Privacy Policy
Your character data belongs to you.
This policy explains what EQL Wayfinder collects, why it is needed, and the choices available to you.
Effective: July 27, 20261. Who operates Wayfinder
EQL Wayfinder (“Wayfinder” or the “Service”) is operated by Green Ear Games (“we,” “us,” or “our”). Questions and privacy requests may be sent to privacy@greeneargames.com.
2. Information we collect
We collect only information used to authenticate you, save your characters, and generate gear recommendations:
- Account information: verified email address, display name, and the sign-in provider you chose—Google, Discord, or ChatGPT.
- Discord information: when you use Discord sign-in, we request the
identifyandemailscopes. We receive your Discord display name and verified email address. We do not request your servers, messages, friends, or contacts. - Google information: when you use Google sign-in, we request OpenID, email, and basic profile information. We do not access Gmail, Drive, contacts, calendars, or other Google services.
- Character information: character names, server, current zone and level, class selections, build preferences, uploaded inventory-export contents, equipped items, and saved routes.
- Technical information: authentication session identifiers and ordinary hosting/security logs such as request time, browser information, IP address, and errors.
3. How we use information
We use this information to sign you in, keep saved characters separated by account, resolve inventory items, calculate and display routes, maintain security, diagnose failures, and improve Wayfinder. We do not sell personal information or use uploaded character data for targeted advertising.
4. When information is shared
Information is processed by service providers needed to operate Wayfinder, including our hosting and database infrastructure and the identity provider you select. Those providers process information under their own terms and privacy policies. We may disclose information when required by law, to protect users or the Service, or as part of a business transfer. We do not provide Discord API data to advertisers or data brokers.
5. EQL Wiki and external links
Wayfinder uses publicly available item information derived from EQL Wiki and links to EQL Wiki item pages. Following an external link takes you to a service we do not control, and its privacy practices apply.
6. Retention and deletion
Saved characters and account records are retained while your account is active or while reasonably needed to provide the Service. Authentication sessions normally expire after 30 days. Security logs may be retained for a limited operational period. You may request deletion or a copy of your saved Wayfinder data by emailing privacy@greeneargames.com from the email associated with your account. We may retain limited information when required by law or necessary to prevent abuse.
7. Security
We use reasonable safeguards appropriate for a small beta service. OAuth client secrets remain server-side, session tokens are stored in hashed form, and connections use HTTPS. No online service can guarantee absolute security; please do not upload information unrelated to your game inventory.
8. Your choices and rights
You may choose which supported identity provider to use, decline to upload an inventory file, edit or replace character data, sign out, and request access, correction, or deletion. Depending on where you live, privacy law may provide additional rights. We will respond to verified requests as required by applicable law.
9. Children
Wayfinder is not directed to children under 13, and we do not knowingly collect personal information from children under 13. Contact us if you believe a child has provided information to the Service.
10. International use
Wayfinder’s providers may process information in the United States and other countries. By using the Service, you understand that information may be processed outside your place of residence, subject to applicable safeguards.
11. Changes
We may update this policy as Wayfinder evolves. We will post the revised policy here and update its effective date. Material changes may also be announced within the Service.
